This is Andrea ~ my second born and my first daughter ~ she arrived in January 1973 just 3 days before my 22nd birthday. She was born a dark haired beauty and has remained that way throughout life. She was truly the sweetest baby ~ very quiet and always full of smiles. It was love at first sight between us as I gazed into her dark eyes and knew that forever my life would be changed with this dark haired beauty to raise. As she grew up, she was always the 'other mother' to her 4 younger siblings ~ always watching out for everyone and still does today.
Andrea loved books from the time she was very little ~ I remember sitting in my rocking chair and reading to her over and over. When she was grown and married and expecting her first baby, she bought tons of books and used to read to Dillon before he was even born. She gave him a love of reading that has helped him achieve so much in these first 10 years of his life.
Andrea married young (as I had) and really wanted to be a mother. Although her marriage to Dillon's Dad ended when he was 2 years old, she continued to nurture Dillon and provide for him by working hard and long hours.
I'm so proud of my daughter ~ she dealt with a lot of adversity in her first marriage and made tough decisions that were in the best interest of her son and never looked back. When she did remarry many years later, it was to a wonderful man who not only loved her, but Dillon also ~ and made it possible for her to be a stay at home Mom.
Andrea and Herb now have siblings for Dillon ~ sweet Brynna and our wonderous Mason. Andrea runs a business from home, juggles three children and is Herb's strongest supporter which I think is something so important in any marriage ~
I feel blessed to have Andrea as my daughter ~ she's still that dark haired beauty who took my breath away all those years ago in that hospital room and still does. She's a nurturer ~ to her husband, her children, her siblings and to me. I can only imagine the person she'll be 30 years from now ~ what her accomplishments will be, but I have no doubt they will be many. She's smart as a whip (as my mother used to like to say) and nothing in life is beyond her reach. My admiration and love for her run deeper than she'll ever know.
God Bless you Andrea ~ always.
