My son Chris and his wife Debbi moved to Tennessee from California in the spring of 2005. I hadn't actually 'seen' them in many years, so we decided to fly to TN and see them, their new home and spend Chris' 35th birthday with him.
We flew to Nashville on Nov 12, 2005 and drove to their home about 1 hour south of Nashville. We love the area they have moved to - and they have a beautiful home in a lovely little town.
While we were there, we took many day trips to see the sights around their area, including the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, TN - took the tour and brought home some collector bottles.
In the middle of our visit, the 4 of us drove to Pigeon Forge TN to visit Dollywood to be there for her Christmas Festival of Lights. We stayed overnight in Pigeon Forge as it was good 5 hour drive from Chris and Debbi's home. They hadn't been before and it's one of our favorite places, so we all had a great time. We took them shopping at the Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge and lightened our wallets abit. :)
At the end of the week, we sadly said goodbye and flew home but we loved every moment of our time there.

We'll be returning often - I have other relatives in TN that we didn't have enough time to visit with on this trip but hope to see again on return trips. I'm a TN girl at heart so my son and his wife couldn't have picked a better place to move to get us to visit! LOL
